More About Our Arrangements

While this section may look complicated, we've done this to clarify who does what and what our charges are to avoid confusion down the road.  We actually consider these terms to be very favorable to you

Fee discounts may be available for:

  • An event within 100 miles of speaker's home (substantial discount!)

  • An event that can be booked as part of another trip

  • Payment of the entire fee at booking

Additional charges may be incurred for:

  • Customization of programs

  • Our basic daily fee includes customization of regulatory seminars (eg. sales and use tax, payroll) to the laws of one state.  If you need coverage of additional states, this may required an additional charge, depending on your requirements, the number of states involved, etc.  Also, please keep in mind that the more states involved, the more complicated and confusing the seminar will become.  We can discuss this with you.

  • Use of our AV equipment.  If we use your projector and PA system, please have someone available to help with the inevitable snags in making everything work.

  • If you wish to video the program, there's no additional charge.  However the video can only be used within your organization and local facility.  The additional fee is not unreasonable, please contact us.

You typically would be responsible for these costs:

  • All ground and air transportation from speaker's home airport (Chicago O'Hare) to your event

  • Air travel will be via coach class on the most direct and convenient flight available (preferably American or United).  Travel by car may be preferred.  

  • Rental car will be a full sized model, usually from Avis.

  • Lodging at a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard, or similar hotel for the night before your event.  

  • If this is for a hotel-based event, then lodging at the primary hotel for your event for at least one evening prior to your event.  

  • If your  event goes late, a second night may be necessary depending on available air travel (red-eyes from the West are not preferred).

  • Duplication of handouts (we'll provide masters, generally as Acrobat files, unless you request otherwise)

  • All audio visual needs including a digital projector, and if the situation requires a sound system: a microphone (lavaliere wireless is preferred).  A sound system probably won't be required unless the number of participants is greater than 50.  Please contact us for details.

  • Please note that you are NOT responsible for our meals, tips, and travel to and parking at Chicago - O'Hare.   

  • Speaker will arrange travel in consultation with you.  

Other issues:

  • If we're presenting at multiple sessions at a conference, we'll need at least a one hour break between sessions (for take-down, set up and audience questions) and longer if the presentations are not nearby.

  • We may need to arrange for extended phone interviews with yourself and other members of your staff and organization to adapt to your specific needs, customs, policies and procedures, systems, and other issues.

  • We would welcome the opportunity to discuss room set up with you in order to maximize the value you receive from the program.
